DIY lip balm / lip gloss videos have been popping up everywhere lately so I decided to make a long compilation featuring 5 different DIY ideas! The first DIY was, of course, inspired by RCLBeauty101's Lava Lamp Lip Gloss. In most lava lamp DIYs, the coloured part is made from coloured castor oil, so I decided to make a "reverse" version using white gloss against tinted glycerol. The flower jelly gloss was another DIY I'd been wanting to do for a very long time, and I was really happy with how they turned out.

*Glycerine/glycerol is a thick, non-toxic and odourless liquid used in medicine, cosmetics or baking. You should be able to get it from pharmacies around the world...it's often sold as a sore throat remedy. The bottle I used in the video was from a baking shop, so you can also check specialist cake supply stores.

** "Fractionated" simply means coconut oil that stays liquid at room temperature and you can get this from large health food stores or online. This is a great substitute for glycerol when making lip gloss. Melting regular coconut oil will NOT work for lip gloss since the oil hardens at room temp. However coconut oil is great ingredient for DIY lip balm (below).
