Born into a farming family in Vamaravelli village, Srikakulam district, Andhra Pradesh, Sri Rama Mohan Rao completed his M.A. in English Literature at Andhra University, Visakhapatnam, achieving remarkable success in 1970.
His spiritual journey began mysteriously on November 23rd, 1970, when he met the principal of DNA Krishna College in Jaleswar, Odisha, for a lecturer position, an encounter that would alter his life's trajectory.
The principal, a devoted Sai devotee, attributed the meeting to the invisible hand of God, as it coincided with Bhagawan's birthday.
Sri Rama Mohan Rao first visited Puttaparthi in 1976 and was personally selected by Bhagawan for a teaching position at Sri Sathya Sai Junior College on August 4th, 1979.
Bhagawan's blessing enabled him to shape students into articulate speakers and accomplished writers.
He founded the hostel magazine 'Sai Chandana' in 1984, which continues to inspire.
He authored and staged dramas before Bhagawan, including Bhakta Chaitanya, Daivam Manusha Rupena, and Meera Bai.
His most cherished blessing was serving as Bhagawan's translator for discourses, commencing with his maiden translation at the Sports Meet in 1986.
Pleased with his debut effort, Bhagawan complimented him, saying, 'Chala bagundi, chala bagundi.'
(meaning 'very nice, very nice!'), and blessed him by offering water from His own silver tumbler, a moment he regards as divine ambrosia.
Accompanying Bhagawan to Kodaikanal on three occasions, he is the sole author of two books detailing these visits.
After dedicating nearly 40 years to Sri Sathya Sai Higher Secondary School, he now serves as a book reviewer, a position to which Bhagawan personally appointed him.
His recent literary works include 'The Divine Call and the Divine Mission' and 'The Facets of Sai Splendor.'
