Springbank Palo Cortado 10 Year Scotch Whisky: My Most Anticipated Whisky Of The Year

Last year I made a list of my top 5 most anticipated Whiskies for the next year, and number one on that list was the Springbank Palo Cortado 10 Year Old Single Malt Scotch Whisky. The Springbank Palo Cortado 10 year is the 2nd in Springbank's Sherry Wood series. The Springbank Palo Cortado 10 Year Old Single Malt Scotch Whisky is bottled at 55%, is non-chill filtered and natural colour. To my knowldege it is the first substantial release by Springbank of a Palo Cortado Sherry finished or matured whisky. This whisky spent 6 year in ex-bourbon barrels and was then finished for 4 years in Palo Cortado Sherry casks. It seems that Springbank never fails to impress, but just how good is this whisky? Does the Springbank Palo Cortado 10 Year Old live up to the hype and my high expectations, ore does it come up short?
