Lake District - The Western Fells - Kirk Fell, PILLAR, Scoat Fell, Steeple & Red Pike (Wasdale)

On this Tuesday 21st April 2015 and Day 21 of our 4 day final trip to the Lake District with regards to completing our 214 Wainwright Lakeland Summits Challenge. We have 13 now left to go and as the weather was good so we decided to take on the mighty PILLAR and surrounding fells We complete 8 fells summits in total including 3 noted in Bill Birkett's Almanac. In order we take on Kirk Fells North and South tops, Looking Stead, PILLAR, Black Crag, Scoat Fell, Steeple and Red Pike in Wasdale. As always the scenery is enhanced further by fantastic clear weather.

Over the past 8 years the Fat Boys have been helping a man achieve his dream of completing the 214 'Wainwrights' listed in his Pictorial Guides to the Lake District. Dave Galloway from Southend-On-Sea in Essex and now age 75 only just recovered from surgery following two bouts of Cancer. That coupled with other obstacles often put in his way, such as chronic cramps, blisters and awful crippling gout have not deterred him from making sure he makes the most of being given a second crack at life.
