Apply 2 coats of stucco to obtain a perfectly flat and smooth surface. after each coat of stucco, sand with abrasive paper and remove any dust. then apply 2 or 3 successive coats of stucco by small touches (pelletizing), more or less close or overlapped.

To obtain the final appearance, sand with a fine steel blade or « iron » to glaze the surface with a long metallic knife.
