Sardar Harihar Singh was very close to the first Chief Minister of Bihar Srikrishna Singh. Sardar Harihar Singh was 8th chief minister of Bihar but his tenure was only for four months in 1969. In 1969 Bihar assembly election, no party or pre-poll alliance got a majority. Then single largest party Congress floor leader in assembly Sardar Harihar Singh was invited to form a government but his government didn't last long. His government lost the majority in assembly when voting was permitted on a supplementary grant on the animal husbandry department.
