COWS EVOLVING TO LIVE IN THE OCEANS? - Project Apollo(Cattle seedworld) Ep. 3

Ungulates have made the transition to water before. A small, hoofed artiodactyl called Pakicetus is related to all whales and dolphins. But can a cattle make a similar change?

This is part of my seedworld series, Project Apollo. Seed worlds are planets that were 'seeded' with earth animals, that are then left to evolve independent of earth in this new context. This can result in extreme diversification, reminiscent of Darwin's Finches or mammals post K-T Extinction Impact. Serina, a natural history of the world of birds by Sheather888/Dylan Bajda and Tales of Kaimere by Keenan Taylor are two examples of popular seedworlds.

On planet Apollo, there are hundreds of massive lakes instead of a single ocean. While this number decreased overtime to less than a dozen notable seas, fully aquatic cattle will still have to evolve multiple times.

Perhaps it would be more realistic to say that invertebrates ate the algae instead of aquatic cattle. But for the sake of the work I've already done, perhaps the algae regrew at a rate invertebrates couldn't consume, or had developed sturdy-enough stems to resist arthropod mouths. Maybe the cattle's swimming also played a big part in sinking/overturning the algae, with their movements stirring up the water and breaking the algae into separate pieces.

I did NOT enjoy drawing those aquatic cattle. Still not fully satisfied with the result, but it doesn't have to be perfect(can't be perfect if I don't want to wait months between uploads) lol
