On today's episode of Second Innings with Manjot Kalra, we have Swastik Chikara as our guest who is an 19-year-old cricketer from Uttar Pradesh who plays as a right-hand batsman. He comes from a sports loving family and he gives the credit of his success in cricket to his father.

In 2019, at just 16 years old, Chikara set a world record by scoring 585 runs in 167 deliveries, including 52 sixes and 55 fours, for Mahi Cricket Club during a 40-over match in the Shaheed Ramprasad Bismil Smriti Open Cricket Tournament.

Chikara made his List A debut for Uttar Pradesh against Himachal Pradesh in November 2023, scoring a century to help his team win by 7 wickets with 78 balls remaining. In the inaugural UPT20 league in 2023, playing for Meerut Mavericks, he ended as the second-highest run-scorer with 494 runs at an average of 70.57 and a strike rate of 173.33 in 9 innings, slamming three centuries and two half-centuries.

Despite his young age, Chikara has already tried out for several IPL teams, including Mumbai Indians, Kolkata Knight Riders, and Rajasthan Royals.

Who is Manjot Kalra?

Manjot Kalra is a left-handed opening batsman from Delhi who played for India U19 in 2018. He was a major contributor in India winning the U19 World Cup against Australia because he scored an unbeaten 101* in the final. He has been a part of IPL as well since he was picked by Delhi Daredevils in 2018 and later retained by them in 2019.

His cricket career has been marked by significant achievements, including his match-winning performances in crucial games and his contributions to various teams at both the domestic and international levels.
