This is the reimagined version of the worship anthem “Look to the Empty Tomb.”
Originally written by Barry L. Wingard, Ph.D., and drawn from the devotional “A New Perspective: Look to the Empty Tomb” (based on the sermon preached by Dr. Louis Beckwith Jr. at Calvary Baptist Church, Lynchburg, VA), this song has now been reimagined in collaboration with Eli Ace.

📖 The Original Vision (Barry L. Wingard)
Barry’s lyrics grew from the truth that grief is real, but resurrection is greater. The women who came to the tomb carried sorrow, but the angel’s words changed everything: “He is not here; for He is risen.” (Matthew 28:5–6).
The original composition captured the triumph of Easter morning with orchestral grandeur and timeless lyrics that declare: Jesus is alive, hope is alive, the tomb is empty.

🎶 The Reimagined Vision (Eli Ace)
As a millennial, a father of four, and someone who grew up with the younger generation, I felt called to reimagine this anthem for today’s children, youth, and Gen Z. When I play this version for my own kids, it catches their attention. The rhythm, dynamics, and youthful touches make the eternal message feel fresh, relevant, and engaging.

The older generation version is beautiful, reverent, and timeless. This reimagined version doesn’t replace it — it builds a bridge. It takes the same powerful lyrics and devotional heart, and wraps them in a soundscape that reaches the next generation. It is for families, for young people, and for children who are discovering the hope of resurrection for themselves.
