Correcting SPT N values to Hammer Energy and Overburden Pressure | Formulas and Procedure

Описание к видео Correcting SPT N values to Hammer Energy and Overburden Pressure | Formulas and Procedure

Standard penetration test (SPT) is widely used field method to estimate the strength of soil. It gives the number of blows (N) to penetrate 15 cm of soil. However, due to the variability of equipment and depths at which this test is performed, some corrections to the hammer energy (assumed 60% energy) and overburden pressure (stress of about 100 kPa) are necessary. This video describes the procedure and use a real-life example to explain how it works in practice.
