Big South Fork Scenic Railway

Описание к видео Big South Fork Scenic Railway

Join me as I take a ride on the Big South Fork Scenic Railway & visit two coal camps, Barthwell Coal Camp and Blue Heron. Big South Fork is in the Cumberland Plateau between on the Kentucky-Tennessee border. They have various train rides throughout the year: 1. Summer Rides 2. Fall Colors Ride 3. Mystery Train Rides 4. Polar Express Rides. Ticket prices for the Summer Rides are $28 for adults 13+, $18 for children 3-12, $25 for seniors 60+ and veterans/active duty get in for free! You can also add a guided mine tour on your ticket for an additional $20. The summer train ride was 14 miles round trip. The 30 minute, 7 mile ride takes you to Barthwell Coal Camp for a 2 hour layover. The train then takes you back to the depot in Stearns, KY. Might be a good video for ‪@FridaysForever‬ ‪@theappalachianchannel‬

The train ride was a lot of fun and the coal camp is educational and very interesting history about coal mining. The staff was incredibly friendly and very knowledgeable about the coal mining/camp life. I would highly recommend this train ride. It is like stepping back in time.
