How to Wear a Keffiyeh

Today, on Keffiyeh Day, we wear keffiyehs to express our solidarity with the Palestinian struggle for liberation.
Palestinians have been adorning keffiyehs in resistance to colonization longer than Israel has existed.
The bold lines symbolize the many trade routes running through historic Palestine and facilitating cultural exchange. The olive leaves represent Palestine’s native olive trees and their continued strength and resilience. The fishnet pattern honors Palestine’s fishermen and sailors, as well as the Palestinian people’s connection to the Mediterranean Sea.
