Tuberculosis (TB) is an infectious disease that usually infects the lungs, but can attack almost any part of the body. The major goals of treatment for TB disease are to cure the individual patient, minimize risk of death and disability, and reduce transmission of M. tuberculosis to other persons. This program will provide information on current changes in the TB protocol. Program faculty will also discuss proper hand hygiene along with OSHA standards for HIV, Hepatitis B and blood borne pathogens.
