Step by Step INSTRUCTIONS:

Pick up a small section of hair from both sides of your head. Combine the sections in the back with an elastic. Part the new section into 3 pieces. From here just start a regular braid. Then, start "pancaking" one side of the braid (ONLY one side!!!). Pancaking is when you pull out the edges of the braid, which will then make them look bigger :) At the end, secure the braid with an elastic and create a small loop (the loop is not necessary but it helps me).

Now, start rolling up the braid into a flower. You want to position it on top of the elastic (the first elastic you put in). Then, secure the flower in place with bobby pins (make sure they go underneath the flower so that they do not show). At this point I like to pull out the edges of the "flower" even more. You can really just play around with it and fix anything you don't like here.

To add some glam to it I swirl in a hair accessory in the middle :) This really transforms the hairstyle and makes it perfect for going out, whether it's on a date or just a fun night out in the city! This would even be perfect for a wedding (with some curls would be amazing)! :D Of course this is also a super cute back to school hairstyle if you decide to leave out the accessory.

If you want to, you can use this technique to make smaller flowers and make several on your head! I have done that many times and it looks gorgeous!

Tips and Tricks:
-Make sure your two sections in the beginning are being held together tightly in the back of your head, otherwise your flower might fall apart throughout the day.
-When you roll up the flower be careful not to completely overlap the braid as you go. You want the braid to be slightly placed in front of itself as you roll it up, but not completely!
-When you put in the bobby pins make sure that you only grab a BIT of hair from the BOTTOM of the braid. You don't want ugly bobby pins all over your flower :)
-This can be a hard hairstyle to do on yourself, so if it is difficult for you then try on a friend first!
