Austin A35 dynamo-alternator Conversion

Описание к видео Austin A35 dynamo-alternator Conversion

Most of the cars of this vintage employed a Lucas generator (dynamo) and a control box that was an electro-mechanical contraption that required periodic maintenance and adjustment. Not many people knew how to diagnose it when something went wrong. Generators don't charge at idle and have a limited life due to the high current being pulled through the commutator brushes. As a result, alternator conversions are a common upgrade in the community for improved performance and reliability. When I did this to my Morris Minor, I searched the internet for "smallest alternator" and it became apparent that the unit used on the Suzuki Samurai was small and readily available.
