In this video we will learn how to make Dan Dan Mein, a Chinese Style Chili Sauce, a Stir-Fry sauce I learn from my Chinese Chef, because it all goes together.
This inspiration all started with this picture, a chef friend of my made some kind of DanDan Mein or Cold Sesame Noodle or something like that and he posted the picture on FB, and when I saw it, I just can't resist, it looks so good, but I don't know how he made it exactly, but I was inspire to make, so I tried, turn's out pretty good, maybe you will enjoy it too :) I look up how to make Dan Dan Mein, a very popular noodle dish for all Asian people I think, Dan Dan Mein is great dish to learn, you can pretty much make any cold noodle or mix noodle dish after. Dan Dan Mein taught me how to make noodle sauce, how to make Chili sauce, how to make meat sauce, so it's like 3 in 1 special LOL. Many many recipes, quite wonderful also, concerning Chinese style Chili sauce, and fabulous Dan Dan Mein recipes, at the end of the day I think you really have to make what taste good to you, and what suits your style. I really love Chinese Cold Sesame Sauce Noodle, it is a very common dish in Taiwan, and I have been eating that growing up, delicious sweet cold noodle so refreshing during summer time, with fresh vegetable, I remember when I was little, that was the only way I eat vegetable, the sauce makes everything tasted so good. Cold Sesame Noodle also reminded me of my grandma, she use to make cold noodle every so often once a while, from her I learn that cold noodle consist of 3 parts, one part is fat, such as some kind of oil or sauce such as sesame sauce, peanut sauce, bean sauce or what ever, one part is sweet, she use to make sweet garlic vinegar water for the noodle, and one part saltiness, so any kind of flavor sauce from a dish or whatever, it could simply just be soy sauce, so mix the noodle as such and then add the topping of your choice, whatever meat dish, or garnish, fresh vegetable, usually cold raw vegetable such as carrots, cucumbers, etc. So I kind of got stuck on this format, and this is how I make my noodle.
