Andrew Ambrose - A Farewell to Teens (PC Engine HuC6280 Original Song)

Описание к видео Andrew Ambrose - A Farewell to Teens (PC Engine HuC6280 Original Song)

I finally got myself a PC Engine recently! My pal LittleWittleKitten was gracious enough to send one along with a Turbo EverDrive PRO as a token of our friendship. The timing could not be more perfect because my 20th birthday is this month! I knew I had to celebrate finally having this awesome console with a song utilizing the PC Engine/TurboGrafx-16's HuC6280 CPU. I was originally gonna try making something using wavetables from Hudson Soft's Power Golf, but I ended up going with a triangle wave, a square wave for drums, a 12.5% pulse wave, and that signature Namco bass. Since I began working on this song just two days before I turn 20 (and I'm finishing and releasing it literally the day before my birthday), I figured this song would also celebrate the completion of my teen years. So, I christened it with the title of A Farewell to Teens, a reference to the Rush album A Farewell to Kings. I'm quite happy with what I've done here, and I'm eager to step forward into the future of my music and my other content. I hope you all enjoy it. ^w^
Also, I've got another bonus download (it's been like a year since I last did that lol)! It's the title theme from the Game Boy game Rockman World 2, AKA Mega Man 2, on the PC-88 (more specifically the YM2203/OPN)! That game's music is infamous for being really shrill with its high-pitched melodies, and I thought I'd try my hand at making it work as others have done in the past. I decided to go with FM patches from Ys (plus a piano FM patch from The Scheme), and it ended up working extremely well. It worked out so well that I wish that I had given it its own YouTube release (I did on intending it to be a bonus download originally, so oh well).
