It is the third edition of product category blocks and brings new layout opportunities. With this new block, you can showcase the categories of your WooCommerce store in a unique and visually appealing way.

So without further ado, let’s start exploring the new Product Category Block of ProductX. But, first of all, make sure that you have the ProductX plugin installed on your site. Now, go to the page, where you want to add the block. For now, I am creating a New Page. However, you can add this block to any page you want.

For adding, the category block, we need to click on the plus icon, located on the left side. Here, you can see that we have the category blocks along with all other blocks. The number three is the new category block. After adding the block, we can also customize it, to achieve our desired look. Now, let’s start exploring the customization options.

At first, we can change between premade layouts. And, we can also import any of the premade patterns. Then we can choose between the slide and grid view. Moreover, we can increase, or decrease the number of columns. Adjust the gap between columns, and rows. We can also hide the categories, that don’t have featured images.

Furthermore, we can play with colors, typography, border radius, padding, content alignment, and much more. The customization options in this block don’t end here. We can decide which elements of this block, we want to display, and which do not.

And, once we enable any of the elements. We can customize the elements as well. To see customization options, for any individual element, we need to click on the dropdown button. And, we will see the available options. Last but not the least, the most interesting customization option is the Query setting. It lets us sort the categories based on multiple criteria. And, we can also increase, or decrease the number of products.

Now, let’s see the product category sorting options. The default option is Regular. By selecting this option, we can display all the latest categories, which may include parent, and child categories as well. With the child of option, we can display the child categories of our desired parent categories.

The parent option, lets us display specific parent categories. At last, the custom selection option is for selecting specific categories, which can be Parent, and Child as well.

That’s all about the new block. Now, you are probably thinking about, where you can use this block. With this new block, you can showcase categories, on individual categories, shop, or any other pages as well. For that, you need to create custom templates using the Dynamic WooComerce Builder Addon of ProductX.
