Cadets and Commandants,

Check out this video which highlights the amazing achievements of the female cadets in our program. 2019 was one of our biggest Summer Camp in many years and in 2020 we are anticipating another surge of cadets. During that camp, it was evident the number of female cadets who were in key leadership positions taking charge. We are proud of all the cadets in the California Cadet Corps, and we are even more proud of our female cadets who represent 1/4 of the Corps but hold the majority top leadership positions.

I originally made this video with the intent of waiting until International Women's Day 2020 but with Summer Camp around the corner, I felt it was necessary to release now when applications open on January 31st, 2020.
This video project is definitely one of my best works. Some of my best mentors as a former cadet and adult were strong women. I hope this videos finds it way to that young male or female cadets who is looking for the opportunity to lead and the CACC is that program.

~ ~ ~ ~ WHAT IS THE CALIFORNIA CADET CORPS ~ ~ ~ ~
The California Cadet Corps, officially founded in 1911 by the California Legislature and then Adjutant General BG Edwin A. Forbes, is thought to be the oldest known program of its type in the country. The Cadet Corps is a school-based, applied leadership program conducted within a military framework and is designed to provide maximum growth and leadership opportunities for cadets from the elementary through the High School levels and stresses six objectives:

• Develop leadership skills
• Enhance academic achievement
• Foster good citizenship
• Promote patriotism
• Provide basic military knowledge
• Encourage health, wellness, and fitness

WATT WHITE is a multi-talented Composer, Singer, Songwriter, Performer and Producer based in New York City. As leader of NYC Punk-Metal band The SmashUp, he toured the US, Canada and UK with Megadeth, Deftones, and the full Vans Warped Tour, logging 30,000 road miles and earning fans nationwide as well as video play for his self-directed video “No Name” on MTV and FUSE.

While on the road Watt recorded a comedy EP featuring the internet hit “Take Off Your T-Shirt If You Can’t Name A Song By The Band That’s On It”, which has earned a combined 200,000 plays on YouTube and FunnyOrDie–and counting.

Watt’s acclaimed solo rock EP “Dare Anything” won him the 2008 Songwriters Hall Of Fame Abe Olman Scholarship Award for “Impossible”, and tracks “Bullet”, “Beat You” and “Times That Try” have appeared on ESPN, NBC’s The Biggest Loser, MTV’s Road Rules/Real World/Keeping Up With The Kardashians, dozens of national TV commercials and many more.

Watt’s 2009 composition “Down and Derby” was named “Official Party Anthem” of the Kentucky Derby on the Banshee Music release “Party Up At The Downs”. Watt’s “Never Gonna Kill Us” (with The SmashUp) appears in the feature film “Feast”, and his cover of Misfits “Die, Die My Darling” appears in the film “Peace Of Mind”. He most recently scored the short films THE ROBBER BARONS OF WALL STREET and KIDWALKER, and the comedy series MANFEAR. He co-wrote and produced several songs on the 2010 EP “Branches” by Danish Indie singer/songwriter Amalie Bruun.
