My main objective in adding Spoilerons is to land at short fields with this Night Radian. This is a floater as any glider should be. But I also fly at places where the landing zone is much shorter than my club field.

This is the 2nd set of flights after adding Spoilerons to my Night Radian. I noticed after a landing during the 1st flight today, there was no difference in half and full up spoilerons. The servos were actually lifting up off the double-sided foam tape holding them to the wing. So I first made sure they were firmly attached and carved out some foam restricting the forward movement of the spoileron servo arms.

Prior to the day's flight, and after the flights on 25 August, I recentered the Spoilerons so the lowest point (-100% travel) was neutral with the wing, the midpoint (0% travel) about 30 degrees up and the full up spoilerons (+100% travel) was about 60 degrees up. I didn't measure, just a WAG. The NR seemed to turn better with Aileron only turns than the earlier flights. Of course the large Rudder is the primary turn surface still. The increased drag was also much better with this higher degree of Spoilerons going up.

Now I just need to put in an Elevator compensation to get a more level flight without the nose over. Up Elevator will also add some drag and help to slow down the NR for shorter field landings. That is my main objective in adding Spoilerons.
