Ghana's Opposition Lanches Nationwide Protests | Firstpost Africa | Subscribe to Firstpost

Ghana's main opposition party staged nationwide protests on Tuesday. The National Democratic Congress (NDC) Party is alleging voter roll irregularities ahead of December polls. Thousands of supporters of the opposition party participated in the rallies. The protests dubbed "enough is enough" were attended by opposition stalwarts across the country. The NDC party leaders said the electoral commission illegally transferred voters to different voting stations without their knowledge, compromising the integrity of the register. Ghana will head to polls on December 7. The upcoming polls will pit ex-president John Dramani Mahama of the NDC against current vice president Mahamudu Bawumia of the ruling New Patriotic Party.
