Peter Tosh was considered the most radical and fearless reggae musicians of his day and indeed of all time. At the other end of the globe, Afrobeat pioneer Fela Kuti also amassed a reputation as a fearless activist and critic of the military government of Nigeria.

Both legends were fierce admirers of each other and shared identical qualities and worldviews. It was no surprise that they would become tight friends after they met during Peter Tosh's first visit to Nigeria in 1982
