Our presenting researchers from the University of Adelaide all have a focus on sustainability and circular economy in the built environments.

Lloyd Dadd - PhD Candidate Civil and Environmental Engineering
Lloyd’s research focuses on transitioning the concrete industry to a circular economy through optimisation of multi-generation recycled aggregate concrete (MGRAC).

Daniel Rossetto | Managing Director of Climate Mundail | Green Finance Expert
Daniel will share details of his international research that looks at recent legislative developments, including passage of the Australian government’s safeguard mechanism reforms and others abroad like the border carbon adjustment being developed by the European Union and the Inflation Reduction Act in the US, create new incentives for sustainable building materials.

Ricardo Lionar | PhD Candidate in Architecture & Sustainability
Ricardo's research examines the impacts of self-shading techniques - diving into energy-saving potential, with the use of sensors to enhance environmental response, and the utilization of steel in potentially modular systems to minimize waste.

Dr Larissa Arakawa Martins | Architect | Civil Engineer | Postdoctoral Research Fellow at University of Adelaide
Dr Martins will share her PhD thesis, which addresses the current knowledge on thermal comfort of older people in order to provide environments that meet their individual requirements and help improve their health, wellbeing and home energy efficiency

Dr Ehsan Sharifi | Senior Lecturer at University of Adelaide
Dr Sharifi will present his latest research around mitigating carbon emissions with green urban spaces, via a case study of Adelaide.
