Creating "Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse"

What's up Rise Up Fam? Join Production Designer, Patrick O'Keefe, and Visual Effects Supervisor, Mike Lasker, for a discussion about the artistic and technological innovations behind the making of the critically acclaimed and visually groundbreaking feature, “Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse."

Patrick O'Keefe is the production designer of “Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse,” and served as art director on the Academy Award®-winning “Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse." O’Keefe has worked on a variety of films, video games, commercials, and television shows; his animation credits include visual development artist on “Hotel Transylvania 3: Summer Vacation,” and background painter on “Big Hero 6: The Series," and he has worked on award-winning short films such as “Invasion!” “Henry,” “Fragile” and “Ashes Fall.” O’Keefe studied illustration at Sheridan College before transferring to the Emily Carr University of Art and Design where he received his Bachelor of Media Arts in Film and Animation Design.

Michael Lasker is the visual effects supervisor for "Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse," and has over two decades of experience working on live-action and animated features, including the Academy Award®-winning "Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse," "The Mitchells vs. the Machines," "Smurfs: The Lost Village," "Cloudy with a Chance of Meatballs" and "Hotel Transylvania." He began his computer graphics career in New York City working on commercials for leading advertising agencies. Lasker received a BFA in computer graphics from Syracuse University.
