An diesem 2. Sonntag nach Trinitatis 2022 hat der Kirchenälteste, Steffen Maeting, wieder den Gottesdienst gehalten. Texte und Lieder passten zu dem heutigen Sonntag. Die Predigt ist eine Lesepredigt über Jona 3, 1 - 10 von Pfarrer Christian Sparsbrod aus Saalfeld. Martina Wegner hat die Liturgie übernommen, und Wiltrud und Dieter Olejniczak haben den Gottesdienst mit ihrer Musik (Orgel und Gitarre) mitgestaltet. Ein Wort des Dankes geht an alle hinaus!

On this 2nd Sunday after Trinity 2022 the church elder, Steffen Maeting, conducted the worship service. The readings and hymns were fitting for this Sunday. The sermon over Jonah 3: 1 - 10 was written by Pastor Christian Sparsbrod from Saalfeld. Martina Wegner took over parts of the liturgy, and Wiltrud and Dieter Olejniczak contributed to the worship service with their music (organ and guitar). We thank all who participated in this service! And here the summary of the sermon: The author transfers the situation of Jonah in Niveveh into our present times - the people who are called to repentance are apparently normal people going after their day-to-day lives and not thinking of the burden that they and their way of living are for other people and for the environment. Jonah is set on their destruction - something prophets are inclined to do, but God sents him so that the people wake up and listen and change their lives, before the 40 days until doom are pasted. And ... the people actually do listen, realize that their lives are on a wrong and destructive path, and they change! That is the will of God (not the self-inflicted destruction). This promise still goes out to us to this day: We ought to hear the warnings, heed them and do what we can to prevent destruction and contribute to life.
