Isandlwana: Walking the Battlefield

Описание к видео Isandlwana: Walking the Battlefield

The 22nd January 2020 marks the 141st anniversary of the Battle of Isandlwana. I decided to mark the occasion by revisiting the battlefield and exploring some of its lesser-known corners. In this film I visit the Ngwebeni valley (where the Zulu army bivouacked), the Talehane spur, The "notch" where the British rocket battery was wiped out and also the location of the last stand by a handful of survivors down by the Manzinyama river.

If you want a full chronology and analysis of the battle then please do check out my good friend over at Britishmuzzleloaders    / britishmuzzleloaders   - he is working on a two-part series about Isandlwana.

The principal books I used for my research here were:

Mike Snook's "How can man die better" - https://amzn.to/3ah0wCY

and Ian Knight's "Zulu Rising" - https://amzn.to/38bwHSu

Any mistakes are purely down to me and not them.
