This match featured Scott himself coming in as defending champion, taking on red hot bowler Dan Gallant in what was the 2nd to last week of the 1988-1989 season of the show as the program was getting ready for that year's True Value Championship event.

This match started a bit slow, but really picked it up heading towards the end with a close finish that went down to the final frames.
