For this track, I utilized the Malekko Manther analog synthesizer and sequencer, a powerful instrument known for its rich analog sound and versatility. The Manther features a CEM3340 based VCO, a comprehensive 64-step sequencer, and extensive connectivity options, including CV/Gate, MIDI, and sync, making it ideal for creating complex and textured sounds. In addition to the synthesizer, I've blended classical string quartet arrangements and the captivating voice of Sheena to enrich the musical experience. 'The Waltz of the Crickets' is a delightful tribute to creativity and art in its most genuine form, featured within the musical project 'The Machine in The Botanical Garden'. The narrative centers around a cricket who chooses to devote his song to art rather than using it for biological mating calls. His melodies, produced by the rubbing of his wings, attract not only other insects and animals, but also draw criticism and skepticism from his own kind. His devotion to music compels him to establish a school, inspiring a new generation of cricket musicians who go on to form orchestras and transform their society. Set in the extraordinary garden where wonders never cease, this track captures the essence of a cricket serenading under the gentle moonlight, educating and sharing his art throughout the seasons.
