Cataract is nothing but clouding of the natural human lens. Cataract can be of various types. It can be congenital, which may be because of uterine infections, inborn errors of metabolism. Developmental cataracts they occur in children and will not progress fast there is traumatic cataracts. As the name suggests any trauma to the eye, a person can develop Cataract following an injury. Any long term use of steroids or secondary to intraoccular infections like uveitis can also cause cataracts.
