Death threats, animal abuse, fox hunting and road chaos

Warwickshire Hunt - Wednesday 15th December 2021 - Ell’s Farm, Broughton

With Boxing Day the biggest date on the hunting calendar almost a week away, the Warwickshire Hunt have in this video provided a snapshot of what fox hunting is all about.

To begin with one rider was filmed wacking his horse hard with his riding crop after it refused to walk over a bridge with him. Unfortunately this probably won't surprise anyone as we all know that fox hunters care little for their animals. When you go out abusing one animal, a fox, abusing other animals will become second nature. We’ve all seen the Cottesmore #ponypunchers well now we have the Warwickshire #horsehitters

Next we see the true aggressive nature of fox hunt supporters when one supporter seems to wind himself up just at the mere sight of saboteurs near him. This is nothing new but this particular hunt supporter seemed very unstable, using misogynistic language, death threats and extremely aggressive behaviour. His minder / responsible adult nonchalantly claimed that he has been bound over so not to worry. These are the type of people who associate with the Warwickshire Hunt. We take threats to life very seriously especially since members of our group have had petrol poured through their letter box by hunt members. It is very concerning that the Warwickshire Hunt has such violent, unhinged and explosive elements amongst its supporters but lets not forget that previously a member of the Warwickshire Hunt accepted a caution for hitting a saboteur.

Finally there is the illegal fox hunting. When you employ a huntsman who already has a conviction for hunting it doesn’t surprise us that we see foxes running from this hunt on a regular basis. It doesn’t surprise us that a convicted huntsman is taking his hounds to places he knows he will find foxes. It doesn't surprise us that once the hounds find the scent of the fox this convicted criminal is hunting the hounds on with his horn towards a busy main road.

Then comes the arrogance. When the hounds inevitably dash across the road the rest of the hunt follow suit holding the busy road up so they can use it as their own personal playground. Not caring that they are holding innocent commuters up or for the safety of their hounds being on or close to such a busy road.

In the end what links all these events is violence. A fox hunt by its very nature is violent. Hunting a fox with a pack of hounds is a violent act. Abuse of other animals such as horses is a violent act. As we have said before the Warwickshire Hunt regularly allows children out with them and we hate to think of the psychological harm this is doing to them but we can perhaps see the effects of being surrounded by constant violence when their supporters transfer that violence towards humans. The only reason our sab wasn’t violently attacked is because of all the cameras that were filming

We are still baffled as to what exactly he was so angry about.

Until next time.
