Thanks to our friends at the amazing @museedesblindes in Saumur, France we were granted access all areas to their WW2 German King Tiger tank a couple of weeks ago.

This massive, 70 tonne tank looks huge on the outside but it’s a tight squeeze to get in and out of it, especially when there would be five crew members and around 80 rounds of 88mm ammunition inside.

Officially designated as Panzerkampfwagen Tiger Ausf. B, it was was designed in 1943 and conceived to be Germany’s most advanced WW2 tank, blending heavy armour with a powerful, long-range, 88mm gun.

In our film you’ll get up close and discover the history of the museum’s Tiger II with amazing footage including overhead drone views and video from each of the five crew members’ positions inside the tank itself.

Around 1,500 were planned but fewer than 500 were built, and this one not only has a fascinating history but it’s the only one in full working order.
