The Sauber Mercedes C9 is often remembered as a dominant force in the old WSC category, realm of the Group C prototypes, with many icons such as the Porsche 962C, Jaguar XJR-9, Toyota 88C, Nissan R90CK, Peugeot 905 and many more.
However the path for the success of Mercedes wasn't as easy as it seems.
The car spent his early stages of life as a backmarker, usually troubled by reliability problems that prevented the team to show his real potential.
