Endotip #2 : easy way to remove gutta- percha in Endodontic retreatments.

🇬🇧 I show how to remove gutta-percha in 2 cases of endodontic retreatment.

This endotip is indicated when we have cases to retreat and the previous retreatment was made by rotary files.

The first thing to do is apply heat to soften gutta-percha. Then we use reciprocating files to remove material.

Sometimes it doen’t work because the gutta is really hard and we use solvents like Eucaliptol, Xilol, etc…

I always use small hand files to treat the apical portion and achieve pattency. Headstroem files are the best for remove gutta.

En este clip enseño la manera como suelo quitar gutapercha del conducto en 2 casos clínicos.

La primera acción es reblandecer la gutapercha. La suelo hacer aplicando calor con system b.

Después suelo utilizar limas reciprocantes. En estos casos Reciproc Blue de Vdw.

A veces aplicando calor y utilizando limas rotatorias reciprocantes no consigo quitar material. Entonces utilizo solventes como eucaliptol, xilol, etc…

Para trabajar el 1/3 apical utilizo sólo limas manuales de pequeño calibre. 10-15-20. Las mejores para quitar gutapercha son las headstroem.
