This was one of the most unforgettable parts of our leaders’ convention in Kuching, Malaysia – a drumming workshop with Doug Manuel that turned into a live lesson on listening, collaboration, and rhythm. 🥁
What started as “just” a fun activity quickly became a powerful reminder of how we show up as a team:

how we listen to each other,
how we adjust when the rhythm changes,
how we lead and follow,
and how we can “beat as one” even when we all start from different tempos.

About halfway through this session, my fingers and palms were already red and sore (and eventually numb 😂), but I didn’t want it to stop. The energy in the room, the shared rhythm, and the feeling of being fully present with everyone else was worth it.
I’m saving this 12-minute video here on YouTube as a longer documentation of the experience – not just as a memory, but as a reminder:

that teamwork is something you can feel, not just talk about in slides,
that real alignment happens when we listen deeply and adjust to one another,
and that leadership can be joyful, loud, imperfect… and very human.
