Description: STARK verifiers check that the system's rules are adhered to through the Arithmetic Intermediate Representation (AIR) describing the system in question. In the straight-forward approach, the verifier evaluates the AIR multiple times. Using the Domain Extension to Eliminate Pretenders (DEEP) trick, only one AIR evaluation is required. Alternatively, using PLONK, the verifier can verify correct evaluation of the AIR circuit multiple times instead of evaluating it themself. The Red Wedding combines both techniques, resulting in a single circuit verification in an out-of-domain point.
