POWERFUL TAKEOFF | Qantas 747-438(ER) Onboard Takeoff Melbourne - [VH-OEJ]

The 747 is something amazing to spot from the outside, but being on board is a whole other story! Today we welcome you onboard "Qantas 2907 Heavy", a service that departs and arrives in Melbourne, via Antarctica.. This explains the slightly longer than normal takeoff roll, we had a full load of fuel on board due to strict legal requirements being so far from a suitable alternate.

Flying onboard the 747 is one hell of an experience, having flown on Qantas 737s, 767s, A330s, A380s and now the 747 I can certainly say she is the pick of the bunch and lives up to her name as queen of the skies! The ride was the smoothest I have ever experienced, definitely the most refined aircraft that I have ever flown on!

After taking off to the south out of runway 16 we travelled onward and upward over the city before passing through the cloud layer and breaking out on top, simply breathtaking!!

We do apologise for the talking of fellow passengers that were onboard, suffice to say they were also enjoying being on board and seeing the city of Melbourne from overhead!
