भारत ने यमन से 5000 भारतीय नागरिकों को सुरक्षित बाहर निकालने के लिए ऑपरेशन राहत शुरू किया था। मार्सोस कमांडो के साथ भारतीय नौसेना के जहाजों ने यमन में फंसे हुए लोगों को जिबूती तक सुरक्षित पहुँचाया।

India's External Affairs Minister Sushma Swaraj assigned General VK Singh to oversee Operation Raahat. MARCOS commandos from Indian Navy battled the odds to rescue the Indian and foreign nationals from 26 countries. Indian Navy ships evacuated them to the nearest port of Djibouti city.
