Rayalaseema People Optimistic About New Industrial Corridors in Kadapa and Kurnool
The people of Rayalaseema, a region in Andhra Pradesh, are excited about the new industrial corridor projects announced by the Central government in Kadapa and Kurnool districts. These projects aim to develop advanced infrastructure to attract industries and stimulate socio-economic progress, generating significant employment opportunities.
The Orvakal Industrial Area in Kurnool district and the Kopparthy Industrial Area in Kadapa district are being developed as part of the Hyderabad Bengaluru Industrial Corridor (HBIC) and the Visakhapatnam-Chennai Industrial Corridor (VCIC), respectively. These corridors will integrate several manufacturing clusters in the region with requisite infrastructure, serving as valuable linkages between major economic corridors in Southern India.
The Kopparthy industrial node, part of the VCIC, is expected to provide competitive advantages for sectors such as food processing, metallurgy, automobiles, pharmaceuticals, electronics, and aerospace, contributing to the rapid development of the backward Rayalaseema region. The total area for the Kopparthy Industrial Area is approximately 5,760.2 acres, with 3,164 acres being developed by the State government and 2,595 acres under the National Industrial Corridor Development and Implementation Trust (NICDIT) framework.
The people of Rayalaseema are hopeful that these industrial corridor projects will generate employment opportunities on a large scale and contribute to the overall development of the region.
