Elevated fecal bacteria concentrations in nearshore waters pose risks to public health, specifically by threatening the safety of recreational waters and sanitation of wild and farmed shellfish. This talk will describe my team’s experience creating forecasts and nowcasts to support fecal contamination risk mitigation, and characterizing emerging contamination threats driven by tidal flooding and sea level rise.
