Latest Update: MG has discontinued the Spiced Orange paint option of the Astor.

Price: MG has priced the Astor from Rs 10.82 lakh to Rs 18.69 lakh (ex-showroom pan-India). The ‘Black Storm’ edition of the SUV is priced between Rs 14.48 lakh and Rs 15.77 lakh (ex-showroom pan India).

Variants: It can be had in five broad variants: Style, Super, Smart, Sharp and Savvy. Each trim gets an EX variant, which loses some safety features. The new special edition of the Astor is based on its Smart variant.

Colours: You can buy the Astor in six different colours: Havana Grey, Aurora Silver, Glaze Red, Candy White, Starry Black, and Candy White with black roof. The special ‘Black Storm’ edition of the Astor comes in Starry Black exterior shade.

Seating Capacity: It has the capacity to seat five passengers.

Engine and Transmission: MG offers the Astor with two engine options: a 1.3-litre turbo-petrol engine (140 PS/220 Nm) and a 1.5-litre naturally-aspirated petrol engine (110 PS/144 Nm). The former is mated only to a 6-speed automatic, while the latter gets 6-speed manual or a CVT automatic.

Features: Features onboard the MG Astor includes a 10-inch touchscreen infotainment system, a 6-way power-adjustable driver seat, automatic climate control, cruise control and a panoramic sunroof.

Safety: It gets up to six airbags and advanced driver-assistance systems (ADAS), which includes adaptive cruise control, forward collision warning, automatic emergency braking, lane-keeping/departure assist, high-beam assist and blind-spot detection. The Astor also comes with a 360-degree camera and electronic stability programme (ESP).

Rivals: The MG Astor rivals the Hyundai Creta, Toyota Hyryder, Kia Seltos, Volkswagen Taigun, Honda Elevate, Skoda Kushaq, Maruti Grand Vitara and Citroen C3 Aircross.
