Christmas tree and decorations in the city of Burgas (Southeast Europe). Burgas is the largest city in southeastern Bulgaria. The forerunner of the modern city is the city of Pyrgos, founded by the Greeks from the south of Apollonia (modern Sozopol). The modern city of Burgas was founded in the 17th century on the site of a fishing village that was located on the site of the Greek colony of Pyrgos.
