As part of an announcement with Purdue's College of Technology, two Korean robot manufacturers, and a Korean University, this robot was demonstrated at the Lafayette, Ind., Fire Department Training Center. This robot can be sent into inaccessible sites where there are fires, such as large buildings, tunnels or storage facilities to check for explosives or combustibles, to fight fires independently or make way for firefighters to work with greater ease. Using an independent suspension system, this robot can ascend or descend the stairs and can work in high temperatures, as it is waterproof and equipped with a cooling system.
