Halifax Search and Rescue responded to The Bluff Wilderness Hiking Trail to aid a hiker on October 3, 2020.

17 members of HSAR’s Remote Rescue team responded to the incident. Two teams were deployed to access the subjects location on foot. It was determined that our Zodiac boat would be the most efficient means of transporting the subject from the wilderness area.

The BLT Rails to Trails proved to be an exceptionally busy location yesterday, as the Ride for Cancer brought several hundred cyclists to the trail. We appreciate the patience of the riders as we had to stop traffic several times on the trail while Rescue One accessed the lake head.

A special shout out to the Scouts Canada - Nova Scotia Council leaders that stepped up to assist in carrying the boat to waters edge.
