Gore Vidal is one of a handful of humans that have ever lived on this planet, which I can confidently call a hero of mine. As a modern gay man, most of my LGBT-whatever acquaintances have been vapid, neurotic, overly-trusting people. They were good people, mind you, but terribly brainwashed by generational fairytales, governmental propaganda, and by unseen bureaucratic enemies who would use their genuine suffering for furthering their own agendas. Not Gore.

There is only one person, living or dead, whose work I agree with completely, and Mr. Gore is not that one. I believe that his lack of understanding on the "shadow government" and even "breakaway civilization" distorted his usual staunch beliefs about US leadership. For example, he publicly stated that the Bush Sr. administration had nothing to do with the attacks on 9/11, based on the fact that such a sophisticated attack could have never been devised by the idiotic Bush or Cheney. Of course, there is a mountain of evidence to suggest otherwise, and it's this lack of conceptualization of an entirely invisible government lying beneath the visible one, and filled with think tanks and international geniuses, which allows someone to scoff at the idea of US involvement of 9/11 (among many others). Nevertheless, I know for certain that if this topic had been thoroughly understood by Vidal who, by then, had been far removed from political corridors, he would not have concluded as he did before.

Although I never knew him personally, studying his life work has made me feel less alone; less like a jaded freak of nature, and more like a fortified minority within my own minority. I upload this non-monetized video in his great honor.
