Is the Canon R6ii Worth it in 2024?

I have owned the Canon EOS R6 mark ii and used it as a professional photographer for half a year now. So i'm a trusted source for when it comes to information on real word use with the camera. But worry not since the R6 mk2 is a very reliable and versatile camera that doesn't seem to struggle in any situation you throw it in. Together with that, Canon made sure to pack it with a lot of helpful features that make life easier which i enjoy a lot.

- Read the video as an article:

The EOS R6ii has a 24 (non stacked) megapixel sensor capable of shooting 40 raw photos a second which sounds like this, that's the electronic shutter and i just took like 200 hundred photo-
Apart from that it's top speed in mechanical shooting is 12fps, what i like about it is how quiet it is compared to other cameras
The ISO goes from 50 to 204800 but we'll get to this and some secret pros later
The shutter speed can range from 30 seconds to 1/16000th electronic and 1/8000th mechanical, so you can use any lens in any level of brightness, which describes what i like about these features i mentioned, versatility there's not a single situation this camera can't deliver in honestly and it does so without getting in your way, let's get into the AF performance as an example
The eye tracking in this camera will pretty much not miss a single time, even at 40fps in good conditions meanwhile if the scene is too chaotic it'll fall to maybe like... 80-90% of the shots being in perfect focus.
One secret pro this camera has which people don't know is that it seems to lack an AA filter, what this means is that you can edit out the very rare problem of noire while benefiting more sharpness than cameras at higher megapixel ranges, for example i also own the 6Dii, it's not a big difference at 26 megapixels but the R6 literally is sharper.
Speaking of sharpness let's get to low light. This camera is an absolute beast in the dark, pun intended. Not only can you get acceptable results even at ISO10 or 20K but at these ranges the photos will look as sharp if not sharper as photos from a 45 megapixel R5 because physics
The ibis has the only con this camera has, and no it's not the wobble. i'll tell you about that after the pros. But anyways the sensor stabilization will upgrade every lens you own into a very stable piece of kit, i can now shoot in my unstabilized lenses for longer and get very sharp photos handheld. Longest i did in my RF glass is like 4 seconds handheld / but more consistency at 1 sec
And also no this is not the same sensor as the R3, but i'd say it performs just as well in low light. But since it's not stacked, the R6ii sensor will have just a little more rolling shutter, still better than an R5 but honestly i don't see why that'd be a problem since you have a mechanical shutter.
There's also a button up top which allows you to shoot video even in photo mode.
So let's move to video. The R6ii does 4K60 10bit with Clog3 and 6K60 on an external recorder like an atomos ninja which is amazing. As for slow motion it does 1080p at 180frames per second which it then saves as an already slowed clip. This feature is often so good i end up shooting at 60fps instead to not be too slow, but i they could have done 4K120 with this camera for sure. Anyways the raw video is really good and you get zebras as well as false color, 2 sweet features to have, and here's two more. Focus peaking and focus assist, i have yes to use the latter but the peaking is amazing.
The IBIS works well, it only has a slight amount of wobble in wide angle.
Video is also VERY good in low light
Which brings us to the build quality of the camera, it's not as chunky as a 6D for example but it feels right, sort of quick and nimble, and WAY finer. The button layout is perfect and fully programmable, you have a joystick and 3 wheels to change settings pretty much instantly, and then the control ring which can be used for a ton of things or be disabled.
Meanwhile the viewfinder has 3.7 million dots but whatever that means, all i know is sometimes i forget it's a screen. When i use optical viewfinders nowdays i really miss seeing the exposure all the settings in it. And sometimes i even wait for photos to playback in it...
It's not a heavy camera at all to me but not light in a bad way either.
The only con this camera has, it's in the build quality field and it's this
When you shake the camera as it's turned off, the sensor will literally shake around which makes it a little awkward to move the camera around at times, but it goes away when it's on and you can get back to shaking it or knocking people out without a worry.
