The Most Terrifying Female Urban Legends

From Japan to the U.S., these women haunt urban legends worldwide. Some urban legends are too scary to be fiction. So which one do you think is real? 👻

1. Kuchisake-onna (Japan) – "The Slit-Mouthed Woman"
She will ask travelers or children if they think she is pretty. If they say no she will k¡ll them. If they say yes she removes her mask and asks again. If they say no she will k¡ll them, but if they say yes she will give them the same slit mouth.


2. La Sayona (Venezuela) – A vengeful spirit that punishes unfaithful men. She presents herself as a beautiful woman and will ask unfaithful men for a ride. They give her a ride and she then will show her true skeletal form. She is really a skull with wild teeth.


3. The Hitchhiking Ghost (USA & UK) – A woman picked up on the road… who vanishes before reaching her destination. There are different variations to this urban legend but usually involves her taking something from the motorist and then the motorist discovering she had passed (typically a vehicular accident).


4. Madame Koi Koi (Nigeria) – A teacher-turned-ghost, haunting school dormitories and terrorizing the students, just as she had in life...
