These were my four best attempts , getting the 6th boss down to 1/2 health, in around 53 minutes of isolated boss practice (using save and load states). This also includes time spent on the checkpoint prior to the boss as I did full attempts and also practiced that section. The game has no boss checkpoint. Brutal game but more doable than I initially thought. Making a save state with a little walking space before the boss made it much easier to practice. Previously I made a save right at the boss with all the enemies present and had to reload immediately after loading the state each time, due to rapid deaths. I can see this stage going down now.
