🛡️ Who Was Sultan Salahuddin Ayyubi?

Saladin (ca. 1137–1193), also known as Salah ad-Din Yusuf ibn Ayyub, was a Kurdish Sunni Muslim who became one of the greatest leaders of the 12th century. Initially serving as Vizier of Egypt under the Shia Fatimid Caliphate, he transitioned the region to Sunni rule in 1171.
As founder of the Ayyubid dynasty, he united Muslims across Egypt and Syria and played a major role in the Third Crusade, especially during the Battle of Hattin and the recapture of Jerusalem.
