Quantum key distribution (QKD) offers perfect communication security between two users. This assumes, however, that the transmitter and receiver devices are trustworthy. What happens, for example, if an eavesdropper tampers with the system? We are developing new quantum communication hardware that solves this problem and this video shows a demonstrator specifically developed to interactively explore the principle.
