Durga Maa realized the true purpose of Mahishasur on Vijaydashmi. Shri Ram did the same with Ravan. What is special about this day that Gods chose to eradicate demons on this day !?!

The final day of war between Shri Ram and Ravan, the latter took refuge in Maa Durga's grace.
Shri Ram, on the other side advised by Brahma ji sought Durga Maa's blessings and offered 108 blue flowers. Out of these 108 lotus flowers (neelkamal), Maa Durga vanished 1 flower (the reason best known to the Goddess). To replace that missing flower, Lord Ram thought of offering His eyes.
This thought invoked immense love in Maa Durga's heart that she personified Herself to Lord Ram and guided Him to realize Ravan's end on the 10th day of Navratri, soon to be called as Vijaydashmi.

So, Vijaydashmi is is good day to set new goals, shun the habits that don't add value to life.

Set an intention and offer 108 flowers to Durga Maa on Vijaydashmi. Incase 108 flowers 💐 seem unarrangeable, offering 108 petals of blue paper would just the purpose.
